| Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Part 2) (EFM 102) Course Description: This course has been designed for nurses, nurse midwives and physicians who provide antepartum and intrapartum care utilizing EFM and limited sonography. The goal is to bring current research and guidelines into the communities, and to assist in preparing for the NCC examination. This course, in conjunction with EFM 101, provides a thorough review in preparation for the national EFM certification exam. Topics: Maternal/fetal physiology Fetal assessment , NICHD terminology; pattern recognition, interpretation, and management; acute & chronic fetal hypoxia; AP fetal assessment; medical-legal cases presentations; and self assessment. |

Presented by: Cydney Afriat Menihan, CNM, MSN, RDMS Ms. Menihan has clinical experience as both a labor and delivery nurse and as a nurse midwife. She provided full-scope midwifery services in an academic and clinical setting. She has also provided didactic education for nurses, nurse midwives, medical students, and physicians during the past 30 years. Additionally, Ms. Menihan has authored numerous professional manuscripts, as well as the textbooks: Electronic Fetal Monitoring: Concepts and Applications, 3rd Ed (with Ellen Kopel)(2008); and Limited Sonography in OB/GYN Triage, 3rd Ed (2008). Ms Menihan has also taught hundreds of EFM seminars, as well as lectured for AWHONN & ACNM National Meetings. Ms. Menihan also provides consultation to hospitals and attorneys in the areas of peer review and medical-malpractice litigation. |
